Amid the wild rush between classes there is always time to stop and chat, compare assignments, make a date, or exchange the latest gripes about teachers, lessons, and school. |
Routine Days Begin As Students Rush To ClassAn air of excitement prevails throughout campus classrooms on the first day of a new term. For some of the old-timers the air is one of anxiety as to what long-range assignments will be made, how many cuts may be taken, and frequency of tests. For the bright-eyed freshman the air is expectant eagerness of what this thing called "college" is like and where he will fit in. The ringing of the bell is an indication of time for comparison of teachers and courses, sudden realization that the cute co-ed seen in registration line is also a classmate, and a quick glance at a schedule to see where the next class is held. Late afternoon means the end of the day for many, but for a large number it marks the beginning of night classes and lab work. Soon those without special night work may wish for it as they trudge to the library. The Yucca, 1958 |
