Phi Upsilon Omicron Home Ec Majors Receive Awards

Phi Upsilon Omicron, national professional home economics fraternity, presented an award to the outstanding freshman home economics major and a $25 award to the outstanding sophomore member in the spring.

Alpha Iota Chapter, fouded at North Texas in 1947, gave food, clothing and toys to two needy families at Christmas, initiated as an honorary member Miss Julia Hunter, who is president of the Texas Home Economics Association, and honored graduating seniors with a party in May.

Sponsored by Mrs. Loren Kellar and Mrs. Avis Hall, the fraternity celebrated Founders' Day with the TWU chapter of Phi U.

Members plan to attend the biennial general assembly planned for the University of Iowa during the summer.
