USNT A Part of NT In Action

In 1965-66, the United Students of North Texas (USNT), a unicameral student government system of which every student is technically a member, turned to football and basketball road trips and to rewriting song lyrics.

In one of the biggest controversies to emerge from the senate chamber, legislators voted to strike out words from the alma mater implying NTSU "is forever in the right" and to substitute for them "is striving for the right."

The body also was responsible for visits here by both U.S. senators from Texas. Democrat Ralph Yarborough and Republican John Tower discussed the 89th Congress' record.
