Sigma Delta Chi Criminal Code Subject of Panel

Dist. Judge W. C. Boyd told Sigma Delta Chi members and other journalism students that the new Texas Criminal Code will not restrict crime news reporting. "But," he warned at a panel sponsored by the professional journalism society, "we are going to have to depend on the integrity of the news media to discipline themselves not to use information that might hurt court proceedings."

The society presented their first annual Award of Excellence to Walter Humphrey, editor of the Fort Worth Press, and also initiated the Robert L. Stanley Scholarship.
