Passing A-Go-Go

starring the North Texas Eagles was the pre-season plan of Coach Odus Mitchell. But, like the past two seasons, Coach Mitchell, and his flock witnessed a disappointing season - this year with 3 wins and 7 losses.

From the 61-15 opener with Texas Western to the 17-14 loss to Tampa, Eagle fans experienced almost constant frustration. But amid dispair there were moments of glory for the Eagles and Coach Mitchell.

Quarterback Vidal Carlin and flanker John Love, the Eagles' junior passing-receiveing team, both placed fourth nationally during the '65 campaign. And, even though the Eagles were on the bottom in the Missouri Valley Conference, seven North Texans made the Coaches' All-Conference first team.
