Inevitable Happens, NT Drops Fifth

Then the inevitable happened. After winning four games in a row - the first time since the 1953-54 season, in which the team won eight straight - the Eagles received their first defeat of the season from hardin-Simmons.

A horde of Cowboys completely buried the Eagles with an aggressive full-court press that caused turnover after turnover for the Eagles.

Eagles made a comeback attempt in the final four minutes, however. The Flock came from eight points back to within two points of Hardin-Simmons. The FLock then stood within two games of tying last year's wins for the group and 4-1 on the season. They added another victory with a win over West Texas State before the Christmas holidays. But with the holidays came misery for the Eagles and Coach Spika.
