Magee Leaves No Room For Dispute

The Eagle tracksters opened their season at the annual Dallas Invitational Track and Field Meet in Dallas. In last year's meet Doyle Magee and Abilene Christian's Gale Harrison ran what looked like a dead heat in the 330-yard dash. The finish judges said Harrison finished a tenth of a second ahead of Magee. This year Magee took the event 10 yards ahead of the field.

Track Coach Winton E. (Pop) Noah felt that his team would make a good showing early in the season in spite of bad weather conditions that hampered workouts since the Christmas holidays.

But the biggest problems that Coach Noah and his cindermen have to face every year is the lack of depth on the squad. Coach Noah thinks he has star personnel, but not enough of them.
