Black history whitewashes NT

The North Texas Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People sponsored a week's program for the celebration of Negro History Week and the anniversary of the national organization.

The first program included giving special recognition tot he first Negro to graduate from North Texas and other firsts for Negros at the university.

The NAACP was also responsible for getting the administration to allow the first all-school dance in the Union Building. The dance theme was "Come As Your Own Thing" which many of the students did.
