Basketball Athletic Barrier Breaker Empress Drane

Empress Drane was the Arthur Ashe Award recipient in 1999. This award is given annually to recognize outstanding athletic and academic performance by African Americans.

Empress played for North Texas from 1997 through 2000, and holds the school record for rebounds and is in the top ten for free throws and steals.
