Services to Sponsors

 

Academic:

 

1.   Serves as a liaison with undergraduate and graduate admissions, academic departments, and the Intensive English Language Institute as well as monitors the application processes.

2.   Awards students in one-year Intensive English and UNT program completion certificates.

 

Reporting:

 

1.   Forwards new student addresses and phone numbers to the Sponsors

2.   Provides Twelfth class day reports and student schedules.

3.   Mailing of IELI mid-term grade reports.

4.   Provides sponsors with final grades, and transcripts for both UNT and IELI.

5.   Offers communication services between agencies and students, including the use of office fax, telephone and express mail services for sponsorship related matters.

 

Billing:

 

Provides third party billing to sponsoring agencies, foreign governments, and other sponsoring organizations, as well as maintains comprehensive financial accounting system.

 

Tracking

 

1.   Maintains a comprehensive current database of Sponsored Students.

2.   Reports program completions, graduation, or student transfers to Sponsors.

 

Assistance:

 

1.   Waives International Insurance fee for students that are provided insurance through their Sponsors.

2.   Authorizes student accounts to allow students to register without payment.

3.   Composes letters and other services provided as requested by Sponsor.

 

Services to Students

 

Arrival Assistance:

 

1.   Provides transportation to and from DFW International Airport, located 30 minutes from Denton.

2.   Personalized assistance with locating suitable housing and settling in for each student.

3.   Conducts special orientations to life in the U.S., helping students arrange utility service, open bank accounts, acquire Texas driver’s licenses, make informed decisions about health/medical insurance, and understand what to do in emergency situations.

 

Continuing Assistance:

 

1. Continues to serve as a liaison between UNT and Students.
2.

Assists with questions regarding housing and helps students with problems they may have with

roommates or apartment contracts.

3. Ongoing medical assistance by providing students with medical specialist information, and transportation for first-time doctor visits.
4.

Plans social get-togethers on campus, excursions to museums and cultural events in Texas, and other activities designed for acculturation and friendship.
