Bill Kubat joined the Good Samaritan Society in 1977 as a licensed nursing home administrator of Good Samaritan facilities in Albion and Beatrice, ND; and at Las Cruces, NM. During this time, he also served the Society as an Expanded Staff representative, as a Preceptor in the Society's Administrator-In-Training (AIT) program, and as a member of its National Board of Directors from 1991 to 1993 In May 1993, Bill was appointed Director of the Eastern States Region of the Good Samaritan Society. He served in this capacity until June 1995, when he accepted a position as Division Director for Resident and Community Services at the Society's home office in Sioux Falls, South Dakota As Division Director for Resident and Community Services, Mr. Kubat is responsible for a staff of 40 who provide clinical/programmatic consulting and support services to GSS facilities throughout the country in the following areas: Nursing, Social Work, Activities, Dietary, Health Information Management, Therapy, Dementia Care, Subacute Services, Managed Care and Quality Assurance. He also chairs the Society's Ethics Committee Mr. Kubat, who also holds a bachelors degree from Marquette University, was one of nearly two dozen practicing administrators who pursued graduate training in long-term care during the early 1990s through a pioneering distant learning program designed by the Good Samaritan Society and the Center for Studies in Aging. |
