David S. Schless is Executive Director of the American Seniors Housing Association (ASHA) with principal responsibility for the Association's legislative and regulatory efforts. Based in Washington, DC, ASHA represents the interests of the nation's larger and more prominent firms participating in the seniors housing industry. ASHA's members are engaged in all aspects of the development and operation of seniors housing, including the ownership, construction, financing, and management of such properties. In addition to his responsibilities as Executive Director of ASHA, David also serves as Treasurer of the Seniors Housing Political Action Committee and as Vice President of the National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) on matters related to housing seniors. David is a co-author of the 1998 HDR Affordable Seniors Housing Handbook which was recently published by West Group. David holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the Traveler's Center on Aging at the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science degree from the Center for Studies in Aging at the University of North Texas. He became the first Executive Director of the American Seniors Housing Association in the spring of 1991, after serving as Manager of Research at the National Association for Senior Living Industries (NASLI). |
