While they may not teach regular courses, countless area professionals participate in our academic programs on a regular basis by lecturing in classes, precepting our student interns, serving on departmental committees, assisting faculty with research, and providing valued guidance on how best to serve our students and the professional community.  Those who do so regularly are recognized by academic appointments as Community-Based Faculty in the Department of Applied Gerontology.  While we certainly wish to honor these individuals, their appointments are in no way "honorary."   Rather, they reflect sustained effort on behalf of our programs that is appreciated by full-time faculty and students alike.
