Overview: |
| This
course propels your journey into the dynamic and rewarding field of aging, the fastest
growing segment of our world population. Join us as we become effective facilitators in
enriching the lives of older adults in senior centers, retirement communities, adult day
centers, assisted living facilities, or nursing homes. Sharpen your interpersonal,
communication, and organizational skills, while exploring the framework of the long-term
care environment to enable older adults to find purpose and meaning in their lives.
And enrich your own life in the process! This course will involve weekly field assignments in
addition to three (3) hours of classroom instruction.
No textbook is required. |

Having completed this
course you can earn the NAAP/NCCAP Activity Professional Certificate by:
- completing an additional course
called Life Enrichment for the Older Adult - Part II (Spring 2004, 3 credits)
- Gerontology majors who complete both
courses will be credited with 90 hours of internship experience towards their total 340
internship hours.
