Examinations and Scoring
Examinations
Candidates are
required to successfully complete an examination at the end of each of the three
CASP Core Courses. Each of the three exams is comprised of approximately 40
multiple-choice questions. Exams are open book and are taken on CASP’s Internet
testing site. Candidates receive a user ID and password from the CLAS
Office to access the site.
Confidentiality
of Examination Scores
Exam scores are
reviewed only by designated CLAS staff. Exam scores are considered confidential
and will not be released to anyone other than the candidate without his or her
written permission.
Scoring
Candidates
receive their pass or fail exam results immediately on the Internet. Seventy
percent of the exam questions must be answered correctly to achieve a passing
grade. The CLAS office will then send confirmation of scores in writing. With
further study, candidates who do not receive a passing grade initially are
allowed to retake an exam one time without penalty. Candidates who still fail to
earn a passing score must pay a $50 reapplication fee and enroll in a classroom
offering of the related core course.
