What has been your favorite/best UNT experience so far? My favorite experience at UNT so far has been going through the transfer orientation process. Going to a new school is hard. Going to a new school after leaving one is even harder. Not only did I not know anyone, but I was not coming in as a freshman, with hundreds of other students in the same situation as I was. Transfer orientation allowed me to meet other transfer students who were going through the same process. The orientation leaders were extremely helpful and made me feel at home from the very beginning. That process, in itself, helped me realize UNT was my home away from home.

What advice would you give to prospective students? GET INVOLVED! Making the transition from high school to college is an exciting, but sometimes scary time in your life. Making an effort to get involved will open a wide variety of doors and opportunities to meet many people and make amazing friends. The residence hall experience can be one of the best times of your life. You can make some amazing, life long friends. I would also encourage transfer students not to be intimidated and feel like you cannot get involved. It's easy to get involved, just remember that you can only get out of UNT what you put into it. If you put in the effort to make UNT feel like home, it will feel like home. Also, most transfer students live off campus. Make sure to utilize the UNT resources to the best of your ability. Living off campus does not mean you have to feel disconnected from everyone and everything on campus.
