Operating Systems

Microsoft Windows 98/Me/2000/XP operating systems
Mac® OS 9.x or OS 10.1.x operating system software

Browsers

Since we use Blackboard Vista 4.2 as our distance learning technology, students should make sure that their browser is properly configured for Vista 4.2.  Vista 4.2 offers a Browser Tune-Up that will ensure that you are using a supported browser. It includes step-by-step instructions to make sure your browser settings are optimized for the best possible Vista 4.2 experience.  You should go through this tune-up before starting a Vista 4.2 class.

Hardware

There are no specific hardware requirements for WebCT.  However, we strongly recommend that you have high speed internet access, such as a cable or DSL connection.

For further information, visit UNT’s Vista page “Browser and Computer Settings.”

Other Equipment

You will need to buy two pieces of equipment if you don’t already have them: a digital audio recorder and headphones with an attached mic. Both of these products will be reviewed at orientation.
