The Department of Design encompasses the professional disciplines of communication design, fashion design and interior design, with BFA and MFA programs for each, plus an MA in Design. You will learn to meet challenges and create new solutions for a rapidly changing world, taught by award-winning faculty members with real-world experience.

The UNT design community is filled with exceptional artists and will support the development of your expertise. The Communication Design program won the majority of prizes in the national student shows sponsored by The Dallas Society of Visual Communications from 2008 to 2011.
At UNT, you'll learn from nationally ranked faculty members with a range of specializations in art history, art education and art museum education. They have distinguished themselves through quality teaching and research, making scholarly presentations on six continents and aggressively publishing in the highest national and international forums.
UNT produces nearly half of the university-certified art educators in Texas. We offer Graduate Academic Certificates in Art Museum Education and Arts Leadership, and our PhD in Art Education is the only program of its kind in the state.
