Our distinguished faculty members are known nationally and internationally. They are master artists and scholars; their exhibitions, publications, workshops and lectures impact communities worldwide.

They direct forums in art and design in the United States and worldwide. For example:

• Robert Milnes, dean of the College of Visual Arts and Design, is president of the National Association of Schools of Art and Design
• Regents Professor Harlan Butt is past president of the Society of North American Goldsmiths
• Nada Shabout, associate professor, is president of the Association for Modern and Contemporary Art of the Arab World

Faculty members will encourage you to explore new directions in creativity and scholarship and guide you in becoming a well-rounded art professional. They will further expose you to additional knowledge and trends by bringing more than 30 visiting artists, designers and scholars to campus each year through lecture series, gallery exhibitions, sponsored research projects and other programs.
