Scholarships in Special Education (Behavioral Disorders)
Master's Programs
- Transition Specialist Program is designed for individuals who desire to work with students with disabilities at the middle and high school levels. more
- Emotional/Behavioral Disorders Program is designed for individuals who desire to work with learners with or who are at-risk for E/BD at the elementary level.
Students without "Education" backgrounds who desire to become qualified to teach in the State of Texas will need to complete requirements for a Texas teaching certificate. This may be done simultaneously while pursuing the master's degree. There is also an alternative certification program available. To find out more about the alternative program see IMPACT.
Doctoral Programs
At the doctoral level, emphasis is placed on preparing leadership personnel who desire to work in direct service programs, state/federal agencies, or college/university teaching. more
Graduate Academic Certificates
- (Graduate Academic Certificates associated with ongoing funded programs may have funding available.)
- Graduate Academic Certificates in Special Education is a new opportunity for academic recognition at the University of North Texas. Graduate Academic Certificates are available to persons who desire to pursue specialized training either during their master’s degree programs, or who do not desire to pursue a master's degree but want to have the specialized training, or who may already have a master's degree and want the specialized training. There are specific requirements associated with each of the certificates:
