   Specialist in Re-Integration of Students with Traumatic      
   Brain Injury Certificate

The Specialist in Re-Integrating Students with Traumatic Brain Injury Certificate is designed for individuals hold at minimum a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and who desire to provide services to students who have suffered traumatic brain injury and to their parents/ families.

Admission Requirements for Certificate:

  1. Hold at least a Bachelor’s Degree and a valid teaching certificate.
  2. Successfully complete a minimum of one full year as a teacher of students with disabilities, school-home-community liaison, or counselor. 
  3. Meet the requirements for admission to the Toulouse School of Graduate Studies. 
  4. Complete and file an application with the Special Education Office indicating the intention to work toward this certificate.

Course Requirements for Certificate (applicant must meet course prerequisites, if any) :

  • EDSP 5684 Seminar on Traumatic Brain Injury - I
  • EDSP 5685 Seminar on Traumatic Brain Injury - II
  • EDSP 5330 Classroom and Behavioral Management Strategies for Exceptional Children and Youth
  • EDSP 5615 Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
  • EDSP 5660 Transition of Youth with E/BD: Issues and Practices

More Information:

The 15 hours for this certificate will also be applicable to the Master’s Degree in Special Education with specialization in emotional/behavioral disorders and/or traumatic brain injury. Students choosing to pursue a Master's Degree must meet the Special Education Program Master's Degree Admissions requirements.
