Masters Degree

Degree Requirements

All students take the same core curriculum of 7academic courses and a 2-hour practicum, as well as complete an experimental thesis (laboratory or applied setting).

Students in the applied concentration take 3 required electives, 2 1-hour practica and complete an internship under the supervision of a board certified behavior analyst working in the field. They may take up to 2 "free electives" in any program area in the university to complete the 48-semester credit hour degree.

Students in the general/experimental concentration take 1 required elective course plus complete 2 research problems (individual studies) under faculty supervison to complete the 42-semester credit hour degree.
They may take up to 2 "free electives" in any program area in the university to complete the 48-semester credit hour degree.

Full- or part-time study is possible, as long as a satisfactory pace is maintained. Students who work part time or less can take 9 hours per semester and complete the degree in 2 to 2.5 years. Students who work more than half-time while in the graduate program should plan on 3 to 3.5 years to complete their degree program.
