Learning OnlineBy Claudia Lynch, Benchmarks Online Editor and Matt Graham, UNT LibrariesIn December of 1997, the University of North Texas signed a contract with CBT Systems* to provide computer based training (CBT) on a wide variety of computer-related subjects. There are a variety of training needs on campus, and it was determined that computer based training would best accommodate different learning styles and busy schedules. In CBT, the computer acts as your personal tutor, presenting instruction in an interactive multimedia format. With this self-paced, self-directed format you can customize your training by selecting only topics of interest to you, or you can let the program guide you through each lesson starting with the basics. CBT on the WebThe UNT/CBT Systems Web site can be found at http://cbt01.library.unt.edu/ Currently, CBT Systems courses are only available for Windows-based PCs.
