Simeon Support to be Phased OutBy Dr. Philip Baczewski, Associate Director of Academic ComputingOver the next year, starting September 1, 2001, support for the Simeon E-mail client will be gradually withdrawn. Those who wish to can continue to use Simeon as long as it will run on their computers, however, after September 1, Simeon will no longer be made available for download. The company which produced Simeon has not continued to update the software. Its role as the primary student E-mail client has been replaced by the Web-based client available via eaglemail.unt.edu. While it served its purpose well, it is time to move on to more contemporary and supportable e-mail software.
