The following are new employees:

  • Lakshmikanth Gorrepati, Lab Monitor, Academic Computing/Adaptive Lab, Academic Computing Services (part-time).
  • Hongyan Yuan, Lab Monitor, Academic Computing/Adaptive Lab, Academic Computing Services (part-time).

The following people no longer work in the Computing Center:

  • Jeff Charette,  CPU Operator (part-time).
  • Neda Salahi, Lab Monitor, ACS General Access Lab, ACS (part-time).

Changes

  • Patrick McLeod, moved from a position on the Information Security Team to a position as a Research and Statistical Support Consultant, Research and Statistical Services, Academic Computing Services.

Awards, Recognition, Publications

The following people have been involved in various professional activities in the past month:

  • Dr. Elizabeth Hinkle-Turner, Student Computing Services Manager, hosted a roundtable discussion on women and music technology issues and curated a recital of women's electroacoustic music for the Center for Experimental Intermedia of the UNT College of Music on March 10.
  • Dr. Philip Baczewski, Associate Director of Academic Computing, recently participated in the annual meeting of the
    Texas Society of Music Theory for which he serves as secretary and Webmaster. In addition to performing his duties as secretary, he chaired a conference session entitled, "Rhythm and Meter in 20th Century Music."
  • Sandy Burke, Manager, Helpdesk Support Services presented  "Seeing the Forest and the Acorns in the Decision Tree" at EDUCAUSE, February 20.
