Turnitin.com
at UNT -
Plagiarism Prevention
UNT has recently purchased a one-year campus-wide
license for unlimited instructor submissions of student papers to Turnitin.com. This service is described as providing a powerful,
easy-to-use online tool that thoroughly checks student papers for
duplication of existing materials. The Plagiarism Prevention system is
said to be recognized worldwide for its searching capabilities and its deterrent
effect on cheating in educational settings.
Patrick Pluscht, Associate Director of the Center for
Distributed Learning, recently gave an overview of the service and
hosted a discussion on how it can be used to promote academic integrity
within the University. You can view Pluscht's PowerPoint
presentation
here.
