the Skillsoft logoSkillSoft Site Re-organized With New Course Offerings

By Dr. Elizabeth Hinkle-Turner, Student Computing Services Manager

Several new courses have been added to the SkillSoft computer-based training site and some training has been deleted. All these changes and choices were done in collaboration with the various university departments that use computer-based training the most.

The new categories of training should help users find the courses they need in several broad areas: Human Resources, Linux/UNIX Training, Dreamweaver training, Security Training, Website Design Principles, Java Training, and Project Management Training. These areas either have proven to be the most-utilized by the UNT community or in the case of Project Management training and Security training will be targeted to specific audiences on campus by their supervisors.

Accessing the SkillSoft training has not changed but newcomers are encouraged to visit www.unt.edu/cbt/skillport_use.html to view an online tutorial on navigating the system. After one gets to the main course catalog categories, simply click on the links until reaching the courses (see below):

All users are strongly encouraged to go to the computer-based training website at www.unt.edu/cbt to see all of the online training available to the UNT community. Any further questions can be directed to ehinkle@unt.edu.
