Mental Health Crises(including suicidal thinking)
If an individual is at imminent suicidal or homicidal risk, or may be a danger to self or others, often the safest and fastest way to ensure immediate care is to call 911 or go to the nearest hospital emergency room.

During regular weekdays when the university is open, students can call UNT Counseling and Testing Center at  (940) 565-2741 for help and we will try to see students at the soonest possible time.

After hours or weekends:  Emergency rooms or calling 911 may be necessary or you may call  Denton Co. MHMR Crisis Hotline..  for  crises in Denton and Denton County ......(940) 387-5555

It is important that each person get the appropriate help they need on a timely basis:   Crises or Emergencies by nature are time-critical.  The Counseling and Testing Center is not able to field all calls after hours, but there are many good, helpful community services available for students.  Be safe!
