Bachelor of Arts

A Bachelor of Arts degree requires a minimum of 128 semester hours, of which 42 must be advanced, and fulfillment of degree requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree as specified in the College of Arts and Sciences section of this catalog.

Supplemental Information for BA with Majors in French, German or Spanish

1. Students may pursue a major in French, German or Spanish.

2. Students majoring in the department who have no previous high school foreign language admission units must complete one of the departmental course sequences numbered 1010, 1020, 2040 and 2050, plus 24 semester hours of advanced work, including 6 hours in 4000-level courses or above.

3. Foreign language majors should consult with the department for evaluation of foreign language credit earned in high school.

4. Students majoring in a foreign language should take relevant accompanying history and geography courses.
