The goal of the Department of Management is to present a realistic, relevant and thorough view of people working in organizations. The department accomplishes this objective by providing academic programs, faculty and career opportunities in the fields of entrepreneurship and strategic management, organizational behavior and human resource management, and production and operations management.
The faculty, as shown through program design, instruction, research and professional activity, believes that effective managers of organizations require an understanding of theory, research, application and practice.

The department offers the Bachelor of Business Administration degree in the professional fields listed below. General requirements for the BBA are listed in the "General University Requirements " and the "University Core Curriculum Requirements " in the Academics section and under "Bachelor of Business Administration" in the College of Business Administration section.
A grade of C or above must be earned in each professional field or supporting course completed in residence or transferred to UNT.
The following courses are required for the professional field in entrepreneurship and strategic management.
MGMT 3830, 3860 and 4870, plus 3 hours approved in advance by the departmental adviser from the following: MGMT 3870, 4800; ACCT 4130; FINA 4300, 4310; MKTG 4700.
The following courses are required for the professional field in organizational behavior and human resource management.
MGMT 3830, 3850, plus 6 hours approved in advance by the department adviser from the following: MGMT 4170, 4180, 4330, 4350, 4400, 4800, 4890; INSU 4400.
The following courses are required for the professional field in production and operations management.
MGMT 3850, 3860, 4870; MSCI 3870
The department offers degree programs leading to the Master of Business Administration with majors in administrative management, human resource management, and production and operations management, and the Doctor of Philosophy with majors in human resource management, organization theory and policy, and production and operations management.
