Membership in Oak Ridge Associated Universities
Since 1955, students and faculty of the University of North Texas have benefited from UNT's membership in Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU), a consortium of 87 colleges and universities. ORAU works with its member institutions to help students and faculty gain access to federal research facilities throughout the country; to keep its members informed about opportunities for fellowship, scholarship and research appointments; and to organize research alliances among its members.
Through the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education, the Department of Energy facility operated by ORAU, undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students, as well as faculty, enjoy access to a multitude of opportunities for study and research.
For more information about ORAU programs, contact Dr. Rollie Schafer, ORAU Council member, at (940) 565-3946; Monnie E. Champion, ORAU Corporate Secretary, at (423) 576-3306; or the ORAU Web site (www.orau.gov).
