This symposium will address housing trends and their implications for community and economic development across a range of policy frameworks. Topics will include:
- Housing for an aging population
- Regulatory barriers to affordable housing
- Balancing affordability/safety in disaster prone areas
- Affordability impacts of non-resident housing purchased in desirable locations
- Housing market impacts of retiree migration
- Environmentally sustainable housing designs
- Disaster recovery
- Financial sustainability in local housing authority operations

Student Participation Opportunities
Students who are interest in housing issues are invited to participate in the symposium by completing a poster session or research paper. Monetary prizes will be awarded to the best poster and research paper. We are offering free registration to the first 10 students who submit a student registration form.
