Mr. Senderson's
Technical Assistance for Term PapersCourses with Writing Projects
- 3300 Law Enforcement Systems
- 4460 Community Corrections
- 4500 Administration of Criminal Justice Agencies
Mr. Senderson feels that students need to impove their writing skills and written assignments are a good way to do that. He expects students to get the following out of written projects:
- improved written methods of self expression
- learn the basic methods of research
- gain additional knowledge regarding topic
Mr. Senderson requires no specific referencing format, but does require the format to use a bibliography. He advises students to evaluate the data and then take a position with regard to the research's meaning. He also would like students to include at the end of a paper, a personal assesment of the material researched.
An excellent term paper or writing project has:
- sufficient documentation
- contrasting points of view
- correct bibliography listing
- correct puncuation, spelling, grammar, and other technical aspects
Mr. Senderson feels that an A paper is a paper that is mechanically correct. Those mechanics include a thesis clearly stated, adequate data to support the thesis and proper documentation. There is a significant loss of points for not having documentation.
