Celebrating the accomplishments of UNT graduates
You’ve done it. All the hard work, late nights and sacrifice are paying off. You’re going to be a college graduate, ready to conquer the world with a UNT degree in hand and all of the power and knowledge that comes with it. It’s time to celebrate!
Commencement marks a passage, the transformation from student to graduate. It’s the beginning of a new journey of discovery and the start of a lifelong affiliation with UNT as alumni.
We’re celebrating this milestone with you. For you. And with all of the fanfare and grandeur you deserve. UNT’s annual University-wide Commencement honors UNT’s annual graduating class with pomp and circumstance, featuring a nationally known speaker, degree conferral and pre-commencement celebrations. If you graduated at any time in the 2014-15 academic year, join us in your cap and gown at 8 p.m. May 16, 2015, at Apogee Stadium for the inaugural University-wide Commencement.
Graduation also is about individual recognition. Hearing your name called. Walking the stage in your cap and gown. Shaking hands with your college administration. UNT’s recognition ceremonies allow you to enjoy the more personal and traditional moments of graduation with fellow graduates from your program. Undergraduate College Recognition Ceremonies are held every May and December to give graduates the opportunity to celebrate graduation in a more intimate setting. Doctoral and Master’s Convocation is held every May to recognize the accomplishments of students who completed post-graduate studies. Graduates will wear their regalia. Doctoral and MFA candidates (all terminal degrees) are hooded during this ceremony by their faculty mentor. The May 2015 recognition ceremonies will be held May 15 and May 16 prior to the university-wide commencement.
We want you to attend all of the graduation events because there are unique features for each one. It also gives you more opportunities to celebrate with your loved ones and your UNT family. Learn more about the different graduation events.
Congratulations UNT graduate! Savor this time and be a part of the sea of green pride at commencement this May.
“Graduation is a defining moment for students because it’s when they start wearing the mantle of college graduate — and all that it means. A whole new world of opportunity opens up for them and the sky is the limit. We wanted commencement to truly reflect how momentous this milestone is for our students and for their families and friends who share in their achievement.”
