For Students HANDS-ON EXPERIENCE BEFORE GRADUATION
COOPERATIVE EDUCATION Cooperative Education integrates classroom theory with paid positions that are designed to provide multiple semesters of work experience specific to a particular major. More than 1,500 employers or agencies list co-op or internship positions with us. Parallel Co-op allows you to work part time (20-25 hours a week) while attending classes at UNT. Alternating Co-op alternates semesters of work and school, so you would work full-time for a semester (or sometimes two, such as Spring/Summer or Summer/Fall), then return to school full-time. This program allows you to work anywhere in the country. While it may mean delaying graduation, this program provides you with some great experiences that will definitely help you in your career. INTERNSHIPS Internship positions last only one semester, and can either be paid or unpaid. The most popular internships occur during summer, but we have openings for you during the fall and spring as well. Some majors require that you complete an internship to graduate. If so, our office can help. ACADEMIC CREDIT Academic credit from your major department is part of the co-op/internships program. Departmental policies vary concerning course registration, but we can guide you through the process. WHO DO WE WORK WITH? Below are just a few of the many companies and agencies looking for you!
