Congratulations to Anthony Renwick.  Anthony has recently been selected to be a McNair Scholar.
Congratulations, Akosua.  Akosua has just been hired by AIDS ARMS in Dallas as a Risk Reduction Specialist.

 

Eric Swanholm and Will Hua were both accepted to present posters at the American Public Health Association's 2007 Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.  Congratulations, Will and Eric.

 

Congratulations, Sabrina.  Sabrina Volpone was just awarded a $1500 scholarship from American Airlines.

 

Congratulations, Stacey.  Stacey Smith was just accepted to TWU's Ph.D. program.

 

Congratulations, Eric.  Eric Swanholm was just accepted to UT Southwestern's clinical Ph.D. program.

 

Congratulations, Sabrina.  Sabrina Volpone was just accepted to the University of Houston's I/O doctoral program.

 

Congratulations, Sabrina, for her acceptance by Division 44 (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Issues) to present a poster at this year's APA Convention!

 

Stacey Smith and Heather Doi were accepted by Division 17 (Counseling Psychology) to present posters at the 2007 APA Convention!  Congratulations Stacey and Heather!

Congratulations Luci Martin, Angelica Zapata, and Eric Swanholm.  They have all been accepted by Division 38 (Health Psychology) to present posters of our research at this year's APA Convention in San Francisco!

Three of our students presented at the Society of Behavioral Medicine Conference.  Congratulations Luci, Sabrina, and Stacey!  This year's SBM conference will be held in Washington D.C.

Rhonda Elerson has just been hired as a case worker for MHMR!  Congratulations Rhonda!

 

Congratulations to Afshan Kamrudin.  She has just been accepted as a McNair Scholar!
Dr. Smith was appointed the chair of APA’s Division 17 new Committee on Early Career Professionals. Also, he was recently named chair-elect of the APA Committee on Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Concerns. Congratulations Dr. Smith!
Congratulations to Dr. Vosvick and his colleagues.  Their manuscript "Effects of Quality of Life and Coping among Adults Living with HIV/AIDS" was published in the Journal of Health Psychology.
Congratulations to Dr. Vosvick.  He has been appointed to the Editorial Board of the Counseling Psychologist!
Drs. Vosvick and Chng have received an UNT development grant for a pilot study to test a forgiveness intervention in HIV+ adults.
Drs. Riggs and Vosvick and Steve Stallings have had their manuscript,
"Attachment Style, Stigma, and Psychological Distress Among HIV+ Adults" accepted for publication in Health Psychology.
Dr. Moore (Assistant Professor) in Sociology received a Fulbright AIDS and AIDS-Related Research Award to conduct a study on Informal Caregiving Experiences of People Caring for Children with HIV/AIDS in Togo (West Africa). She will be in Togo from July to December 2006. Congratulations Dr. Moore!
Congratulations to Drs. Vosvick and Moore! Their manuscript has been accepted to the International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy!
Congratulations to Sabrina Volpone and Elaine Stephen for submitting to the 2006 American Public Health Association (APHA) Annual Meeting! APHA will be held on November 6-8, 2006 in Boston, MA. 

Congratulations to those who were accepted to the 2006 APA Convention. Elaine Stephen, Stacey Smith, Josh McKelroy, Chelsea Moss, Scott Hilborn, Jennifer Bridgewater, Luci Martin, and Eric Swanholm will be presenting. The Convention will be held on August 10-13 in New Orleans, LA.

Congratulations to those who presented at the Society of Behavioral Medicine! Jeff Harris, Andrew Scherbarth, Dr. Vosvick and Dr. Chng presented posters on: "Predictors of Health Protective Communication", "Trauma, dispositional forgiveness, and depression in people living with HIV/AIDS" and "Life after a decade with HIV: Religiosity, humor and avoidance as coping strategems".
Congratulations to Dr. Vosvick! He has been invited by the Canadian Association for HIV Research to present at their 2006 annual conference in Quebec.
