Minutes from January 19, 2001 Meeting
Minutes from the January 19, 2001 meeting were approved as written.

Subcommittee Reports
Elizabeth Hinkle-Turner reported that the Student Computing Committee had not met.

Update on WAN Upgrade
Mike Maner reported that the WAN upgrade is complete.

Old Business
None.

New Business
Maurice Leatherbury reported that the Internet2 contract has been finalized, and that www.unt.edu authentication procedures have been changed (due to an upgrade of the server). Euid and password must now be used.

Bill Buntain reported that Data Communications will be evaluating PacketShaper and Net Enforcer bandwidth allocation tools. Bill also reported that he is close to completing the specifications for the last phase of the wiring project.

Pam Hight reported that the City of Denton had been hacked.

Jim Curry reported that six gigabyte hard drives are available on Dell research laptops.

Christopher D. Cofer reported that the student Eagle Mail site had been upgraded to bypass a product called Mailspinner using IMP and, that bulk mail deliveries have been re-started.

Brenda Yu reported that COE has been experiencing problems with NDS. Data Communications and the NDS team will be looking into the problems.

Mike Wright reported that problems issuing a new Adobe contract still exist, however Adobe will continue to support software negotiated under old contract stipulations. Mike also reported that he will begin working on the next MOLP contract.

Mike Maner reported that Data Communications is moving forward with the Internet2 rollout. Mike also reported that they are interviewing applicants for vacant positions and working on debugging issues.

Kirk Kelly reporting that he is working through ResNet port management update problems associated with switches.

Allen Bradley reported that distributed areas have been receiving virus stat reports showing e-mail "to" and "from" addresses. DCSMT members agreed that it was appropriate this information to continue to be reported.

The meeting adjourned at 11:50 a.m.
