Minutes
Minutes from the April 20, 2001 and June 1, 2001 meetings were approved as written.

Subcommittee Reports
Maurice reported that the Student Computing Committee had not met.

The report of MacOS X Support will be presented later.

Draft TIF Grant Budget
Maurice Leatherbury is working on a draft of the proposed TIF budget.  The proposal will be submitted to the Information Resources Strategic Planning Committee.  $813,000 in grant requests are available.

Multicasting on our Network
Bill Buntain and CR Chevli reported performance problems with multicasting on the network.  Data Communications is working to resolve the problem caused by additional stress on the network.

New Business
Jim Curry reported that 1 gig processors, 17" screens for flat panels, MS Millenium Edition software, and Celeron 700's will become available.

Maurice reported that there are problems with campus agreement software purchased from the bookstore.  The CD's that are being shipped from Hi-Ed are blank or unreadable.  Maurice is waiting to hear from Hi-Ed.

Craig Berry reported that construction on a new server room and lab modification were completed.  The server room has an antistatic floor and a supplemental air conditioning unit.  Craig also reported that two new Compaq servers will be ordered.

Philip Baczewski reported that the multi-user UNIX system will call on ftp and ssh protocals.  This will primarily affect faculty researchers. Implementation is scheduled for the fall.

Chris Strauss reported that Remedy Web now supports java clients 1.3 and 1.2.2.  See Remedy Web Helpdesk Central for more information.

Mike Williams reported that a Windows 2000 class is scheduled for Monday.

Craig Terrell reported that the internet caching system has not been re-enabled.  (Patches are not working).  Data Communications is working with vendors to resolve ICQ problems.

Jason Myre reported that the UNT GroupWise directory list has been implemented and that rules are enabled.  Jason also reported that some DBase synchronization issues exist.  The most prevalent problem occurs when user accounts that were recently created suddenly become lost.  Call Jason if you experience this problem.

Paul Hons reported that COE is switching to a new server.

Mike Hatch reported that the majority of workstation upgrades have been completed.

Tim Christian reported that he's continuing the rollout of new computers.

Daren Dugan reported that he has been working on new Xiotech issues at the Health Science Center.  The System Center will be moving to Netware 5.1.

Gary Mathews reported that upgrades have been completed.

Wil Clark reported at that SCD he's been installing software and anticipates the arrival of the new Executive Director.
