APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes from February 15, 2008, were approved as written.
HP PRODUCT UPDATE
Representatives from Hewlett-Packard (HP) were on hand to provide an overview of some of their products which may be of interest to UNT. They previewed a compact laptop computer which is smaller and lighter than others on the market. They also provided an overview of the current HP printer line.
DATA NETWORK UPGRADE
Krysta Kaye of CITC Data Communications presented information on the planned upgrade of the campus data network. The five-year plan will result in the replacement of all data switches on the UNT campuses, with the older switches to be targeted first. During the first year of this project, switches will be replaced in 20 buildings on campus, however, minimal network down time is expected.

AREA REPORTS
Mike Hatch announced that the COBA desktop computer upgrade was proceeding and that their old computers would be made available for use on campus at no cost. He also reported that COBA had negotiated with Dell to provide a discount off the premier price which can be requested for any institutional purchases of Dell Desktops during this sales period.
Gabe Marshall reported that online security training is now available as a WebCT course. Those wishing to access the training can contact security@unt.edu.
Craig Terrell thanked the group for the responses so far regarding the use of SUSA Linux and requested that those who may not have responded contact him with that information as soon as possible.
Scott Jackson introduced Matt Graham as the new Library network manager.
