APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Minutes from February 6, 2009, were approved as written.

OLD BUSINESS

  • Active Directory Data Updates

Paul Hons noted that data dumps from EIS were overwriting locally updated Active Directory information that was more accurate than the data being supplied by EIS. Craig Terrell explained that a massive cleanup of the e-mail alias database was under way and some of that activity lead to the synchronization that caused data to be overwritten. Discussion ensued regarding how data people's demographic data updates should be made to Active Directory. Since the EIS system lacks sufficient facilities for individuals or support staff to maintain records such as telephone number, title, and office location, it was decided to keep that a local function for now. It was suggested that the CAMREQ system might be an option for pushing accurate data into EIS.

  • EagleConnect Status Report

Elizabeth Hinkle-Turner reported that over 1700 students have converted to Eagleconnect. Banners and posters have been posted at several locations on campus. Elizabeth brought flyers and postit notes that advertise EagleConnect. Elizabeth reported that federated chat was now available to various clients including eagleconnect. Mac Edwards and Richard Sanzone of the CITC Helpdesk are documenting the use of federated chat for eagleconnect. There is a 30 minute delay syncing from UNT to Microsoft Live@EDU. Alumni or retiree can apply for account. Bruce Pollock asked if password sync would be supported for Alumni. Craig Terrell affirmed that those accounts would be supported in the same way as student accounts.

NEW BUSINESS

No new business was discussed.

AREA REPORTS

Don McClure noted that support customers in BMC Remedy ITSM are allocated based on the budget account number under which they are paid.

Gabe Marshall announced that disk encryption training would be held on March 2 at 10:45 am at CITC offices in Discovery Park.

Dan Kidd noted that parts bought to upgrade a Dell desktop or server were not automatically associated with the unit and warranty work on those parts later on might be rejected unless the parts were associated with the unit. Eric Whippo (Dell inside sales) can update such information.
