Minutes from February 20, 2009, were approved as written.

Patrick McLeod (CITC RSS) queried the managers as to the next possible cutover date for moving from SPSS 15 top SPSS 17 as the supported version on campus. ACS RSS has tested SPSS 17 and believes it to be stable useful for ongoing support. Patrick indicated that the SPSS 15 license code under which we are operating will expire on August 31, 2009 and will not be renewed. Philip Baczewski stated that it is preferred that SPSS 17 be adopted by the 2009 Summer I term.

Philip Baczewski mentioned that now that areas were starting to provision software using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager, that it might be useful to have a meeting to discuss different issues and techniques that areas may have encountered while using SCCM. Paul Hons mentioned that it might be necessary to coordinate on some naming conventions to avoid conflict in managing provision of software to specific systems. Philip Baczewski agreed to schedule a meeting, probably on March 27, to facilitate discussion of these issues.

Elizabeth Hinkle-Turner (ACS Student Computing Services) mentioned that the EagleMail to EagleConnect transition was underway and encouraged managers to be sure that faculty and staff were moving off of EagleMail.

No new business was discussed.

Tom Bunton (HSC) reported that he had attended some ACS short courses and found the content to be helpful, but indicated that the training lab environment needed improvement. Philip Baczewski noted that since SLIS had moved to Discovery Park, ACS no longer has a dedicated training facility like the one that CITC and SLIS had partnered on in the ISB.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for April 4, 2009.
