Philip Baczewski updated the group on the Microsoft SCCM training for distributed are managers. CITC has funded training to allow one attendee per area to participate in on-campus training during the week of July 27.

Philip Baczewski reported for Elizabeth Hinkle-Turner that the group evaluating Faronics Powersave would be meeting on June 10 and that members should contact her if interested in attending.

Charlotte Russell announced that the CAMReq system was ready to be opened up for entire campus use. Distributed Managers interested in using CAMReq should contact Gabe Marshall for access but first get approval from their department ID holder. CAMReq supports timely provisioning of new IDs as well as access modification and role removal reports available to system managers.

Philip Baczewski inquired if managers would be interested in presentation from Bomgar about their remote desktop support appliance. A number of areas noted what tools they were using for remote desktop support but also noted problems with access through firewalls and the lack of user-initiated requests. It was agreed to arrange a Bomgar presentation at a future meeting as well as possibly look into other products that may provide a remote support solution.

The question was raised as to whether the campus AD authentication standard was NTLM V1 or V2. The chair promised to raise the question with the appropriate group within CITC.

Chris Strauss announced that he would be trying to patch ITSM applications. He said that patch 9 would be applied after midnight on Saturday during the normal maintenance window but that the system may be unavailable for a couple hours longer than usual in order to accomplish the patch.

Mike Hatch introduced Daniel Duncan who replaces Chris Stoermer as designated server specialist for their area.

The meeting was adjourned at 10:45 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for June 19, 2009.
