Minutes from September 4, 2009, were approved as written.

CR Chevli (CITC Data Communications) gave a presentation showing design and implementation changes planned or underway to the UNT core data network, building distribution networks, and the UNT wireless network. The new network design will provide redundancy at the core, building distribution, and building aggregation layers. He reported that since FY2008 Datacomm staff have completed the installation of more than 176 buliding switches, 80 UPS units, and 86 Temperature\Humidity Sensors in 85 closets within 40 buildings, with installation of 90 switches, 20 UPS units, and 22 Temperature\Humidity Sensors planned for 22 closets in 5 buildings during FY10. CR stated that an upgrade of the UNT Wireless network is also under way, and would result in support of the 802.11b, g, and n protocols. The upgrade will be completed on the main Denton campus during the Summer of 2010. Krysta Berry (CITC Data Communications) announced that the building upgrade schedule for this year would include the ISB, Aministration Building, and Chilton Hall this Fall, and the GAB and Matthews Hall next Spring.

Charlotte Russell (CITC Administration and Compliance) introduced Luis Tapia from risk management who provided an overview of the University's plans to manage an H1N1 flu outbreak. Charlotte reported that plans for IT continuity included goals to keep enterprise systems up and running, including data communications, telecommunications, data storage, messaging, EIS, LDAP, and other issues. She said that plans were being developed to communicate with staff regarding remote access to campus IT resources and to create a service restoration plan if needed.

Elizabeth Hinkle-Turner reported that the recommendations of the power saving software committee of DCSMT had been accepted by UNT administrators.

No new business was discussed.

Yancey Yeargan reminded the group about the Apple/Mac OS managers group that was meeting on the second Friday of every month.

The meeting was adjourned at 11:35 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for October 2, 2009.
