APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Minutes from October 15, 2010, were approved as written.
INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY AND SYSTEM MAINTENANCE NOTIFICATIONS
Robert Jones (CITC AIS Tools & User Services) discussed the IT Change Management (ITCM) procedure providing oversight and notification for changes to CITC-supported core IT infrastructure components and services. A Sharepoint site has been created to support the ITCM process and will feature a change calendar and push notifications to the UNT-Netman list. There was discussion regarding overlap between Remedy ITSM bulletins and outage notifications and ITCM notifications. It was noted that Richard Sanzone services on the ITCM committee and DCSMT asked Richard to monitor the notification systems and provide recommendations to DCSMT regarding any overlap in notification services. DCSMT will reexamine this issue in the Spring.
UNT COMPLIANCE PROGRAM
Steven Hill, UNT and System Compliance officer, introduced the UNT compliance program and provided an overview of its aims and goals. He specifically asked distributed managers for input on how frequently they transported UNT equipment in personal or University vehicles, noting that not all insurance policies (including those maintained by the University) would necessarily cover loss or damage of equipment. The compliance office will consider this and other information in order to formulate recommendations for the University community in this regard.
No old business was discussed.
Tim Christian (College of Arts and Sciences) asked managers for their feedback on the return they've seen from training on desktop applications such as Microsoft Office.
Chris Strauss (CITC Call Tracking Administration) asked if any areas were dependent upon the Remedy Windows user tool for their operations. Most areas reported that they had adopted the web client. Chris noted that the Windows user tool was slated to be dropped by Remedy in the version we next plan to adopt, and that planning was underway to better adapt the web service for use on campus by various areas.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:35 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for November 19, 2010.
