Minutes from June 15, 2012, were approved as written.


Brent Morgan and Chris Stoner were on hand from Xerox Metro Centre/Computer Color GraphiX, a local Denton firm representing Xerox copier products. They discussed several service offerings that they could provide, including sales and service of Xerox equipment. They currently are providing solutions for shared printing in the Business Leadership Building. They also discussed "solid ink" copier technology and offered demo machines if areas were interested in testing it. Philip Baczewski also promised to brief DCSMT on a project to support enhanced student printing via use of the PaperCut software already owned by UNT.


Philip Baczewski presented the proposed standard Dell models to be recommended on UNT's Dell Premier web site. Managers recommended the addition of a minitower option to support expansion cards for certain applications. Otherwise, the standard systems were accepted as presented.

Philip also noted that the Apple eCommerce Store was now available for institutional purchases, but required an Apple ID and an application for proposer or buyer status to save proposals. Detailed instructions for buying from the store for institutional use are posted on the MMS web page (www.mms.unt.edu).


Nassos Galiopoulos announced that ITSS Sharepoint Services would be updating the page design for UNT sites. The updates will be coordinated with the Sharepoint administrators for the various sites and done in a phased implementation. Managers can contact Sharepoint Services for information or assistance in this regard.

Joe Adamo announced that ITSS is investigating outsourcing UNT's Exchange e-mail system to Microsoft's Office 365 offering and asked managers to provide feedback regarding potential impact this might have in their areas.


Bahram Paiani discussed the pending implementation of SPF and noted that external service providers may need to use an alternate e-mail address if they are currently sending on behalf of unt.edu.

Tracy Hansen asked that it be noted that Imaging Services users should contact her office before migrating to IE version 9.


The meeting was adjourned at 11:50 a.m. The next meeting is scheduled for August 3, 2012.
