Annual Giving

Why give?

In a word, participation. Your participation is critical to the continued success of UNT.

  • Participation in Annual Giving is a standard measure of alumni satisfaction with the education they received from their alma mater.
  • Participation is considered by corporations and foundations when awarding grants, and by other donors when making philanthropic decisions. Smaller gifts can have far reaching influence by attracting major gifts and grants.
  • Participation in Annual Giving is one of the criteria used in national rankings of colleges and universities. The reputation of your degree and the degrees of future students is strengthened because of alumni participation.
  • Participation that is loyal and wide-spread increases the collective impact of annual gifts; annual gifts are typically smaller, but they add up to play a significant role in supporting our students.

“As an alumnus who has enjoyed some measure of success in life due to my UNT degrees, I'm happy to support this worthy cause. UNT remains a vital step in the lives of so many people who are filled with potential but limited in their financial means. I hope that my support of the general scholarship makes some small difference.”
