A new way to help UNT students! Giving from your online sales is easy! Just register with eBay and MissionFish, pick your charity and the percentage you want to give, and MissionFish will make sure your donation gets to us. MissionFish also will send you a receipt for tax filing purposes. You can donate all of the money you make through sales or a percentage, as long as the end donation is at least $10. The donations will benefit UNT's new Cornerstone Fund for Scholars, which provides scholarships to students. How to give to UNT through MissionFish The University of North Texas Foundation, Inc. has joined more than 3,200 organizations nationwide in the MissionFish program. Now you can benefit the University of North Texas and its students directly when you sell items through eBay. MissionFish, a service of the Points of Light Foundation & Volunteer Center National Network, joined forces with eBay in 2003 to connect sellers with the charities they would like to support. As of September 2004, charitable organizations had received more than $1.4 million through this unique arrangement.
For an easy-to-read diagram outlining the steps to giving, check out "How MissionFish Works" on the MissionFish web site. The university will review items that are sold to benefit it, to assure appropriateness. You will be notified if the university declines your item. Once your item is approved, it will be posted on eBay with the eBay Giving Works icon. You can search for your item, and others benefiting UNT, on the eBay and MissionFish web sites. Look for the UNT Foundation entry on MissionFish and you can review all sale items listed to benefit the university.
