Frequently Asked Questions
I already work here, why should I give?
Support from faculty and staff - above and beyond your important day-to-day duties as an employee - is a strong vote of confidence in UNT. A financial contribution is an important way to demonstrate your investment in the university and its students.
I don’t get paid enough to make a gift.
Your $10 could become $240! A gift of just $10 through monthly payroll deduction, when doubled through the President’s Matching Challenge, could equal $240 to any scholarship fund that matters to you.
When you give $42 per month to a scholarship fund, your gift could double to become over $1000 in one year’s time.
Remember, your participation matters. Faculty and staff giving plays a role in academic rankings and the university's reputation overall. We make UNT stronger by giving.
Why is it important that I participate?
Because you are an important member of our UNT community. We can't do this without you. Your participation is vital!
Is this the same as the SECC / United Way Campaign?
No. Gifts made through SECC are technically to the United Way and community organizations. Those contributions cannot be counted as We Care We Count participation.
While both are worthwhile causes, all gifts made through the We Care We Count campaign directly benefit programs and students at UNT year-round. 100% of your gift goes to the area, scholarship or program you choose.
What are the tax benefits of giving to UNT?
Your gift is tax-deductible to the full extent of the law and you will receive a receipt for each gift.
I have already made a gift this year.
Thank you! Any gift to UNT since September 1, 2011 counts you as a participant in this year’s We Care We Count campaign. You can take advantage of the President’s Matching Challenge by giving an additional gift or increasing your pledge amount to make an even greater impact on UNT students this year.
