If I have not had the pleasure of meeting you, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Lynne Brister-Cox, and I am the academic advisor for EADP. I am thrilled to have the chance to work with such a supportive department and great students. Advising is a critical part of your college career. Together we will make sure that you follow the degree plan and schedule your classes correctly. Our Student Services Advising Office offers students many services such as exploring life/career/educational goals, selecting classes and schedules, selecting minors and certifications, writing degree plans and checking graduation requirements, referring students to on-campus resources, acting as an advocate, and many more. Attending college is just one of many life stages you will experience. My philosophy about advising is to help you get the most out of your college experience. My function as an advisor, in addition to the areas listed above, is as an UNT expert. Please give me the opportunity to share my expertise with you. Appointments are strongly recommended, however, I do see students on a walk-in basis, schedule permitting. Office hours are 8:00AM to 5:00PM, and we see appointments from 9AM to 4PM. Please call (940) 565-4115 for an appointment. If you need an appointment outside of my office hours, we can make arrangements. Please call me personally at (940) 565-3423. Finally,
if you are planning on graduating within the next year, please come to see
me so we can check to make sure that all of your degree requirements are
met. I’ll explain graduation procedures and the resources UNT can offer
you in looking for employment opportunities. Good luck to everyone, and I
look forward to our next meeting. |
