Q.  Can I transfer in FEMA Independent Study Courses to UNT?

A.  Yes, but only up to six hours.  In accordance with university policy, all transfer of credit MUST be completed prior to the final semester at UNT.  Course credit may be obtained by following the procedures below:

1)  Complete FEMA course and obtain course certificate.

2) 
Transfer the course to Fredrick Community College, Frederick, MD (301/846-2656).  

3) 
Transfer the credits from Fredrick Community College to the University of North Texas, Registrar's Office, POB 311400, Denton, TX  76203.   (940/565-2111)
 

There is no cost for the FEMA courses, but you must pay tuition to Fredrick Community College to obtain college credit.  Be aware that the entire process may take two months to complete. 

Important Note:  UNT has residency restrictions on how many credits may be transferred in during your senior year.  Consult your academic advisor before undertaking these courses.
